2 pears, peeled, halved, and cored
1 orange, quartered
2 cups red wine
1/2 cup blue cheese, crumbled
1/4 cup sugar
1 cinnamon stick
3 whole cloves
2 tablespoons dried cranberries (optional)
2-3 tablespoons raw honey
1 cup water
Place a small saucepan over medium-high heat.
Add wine, water, orange, cinnamon stick, cloves and sugar.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat, add pears and simmer for 15 minutes.
Remove pears from poaching liquid, blot with paper towels, and allow to come to room temperature.
Stand a pear on a dessert plate.
Top with blue cheese and dried cranberries.
Drizzle with honey and serve.
